About

Rana Slosberg, College Admissions Consultant

Growing up, my father always spoke of the importance of education and encouraged me to follow my dreams. After a long and successful career with a Global 500 company in the aerospace industry, I decided to pursue a second career. My daughter who was attending MIT suggested that I might want to become an independent college admissions consultant. She recognized the joy I had working with her on her college search.

I went back to college,  resumed visiting colleges, and opened Slosberg College Solutions LLC in 2010. I carry on my dad’s message by assisting high school students with the college selection and application process.

In addition to a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering from New York University, I have a Master of Arts degree in Computer Science from Queens College and an Independent Educational Consultant Certificate from the University of California Irvine Extension. I attend workshops and college admissions conferences to keep abreast of changes in the field and visit colleges regularly. I speak and blog on a variety of college admission and financial aid topics.

As a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA), I subscribe to the HECA standards of good practice. I am also a member of the New Jersey Association for College Admission Counseling (NJACAC) and a member of the Somerset County Business Partnership, the regional Chamber of Commerce.
